Temple B’nai Torah is seeking a Director of Administration to oversee day-to-day operations, support planning and staff development and implement the Temple’s strategic plans. Temple B’nai Torah is an informal, loving, boldly inclusive and passionately progressive Jewish Reform community of learners and doers who are collaboratively and intentionally building Jewish life in the Pacific Northwest. Temple B’nai Torah, located in Bellevue, WA, is a diverse community with volunteer participation from our 300+ households.

Responsibilities:
? Manage the Temple’s daily operations including finances, membership involvement, and the physical plant.
? Financial Management
? Work with the Finance Committee and staff to create budgets
? Oversee fundraising efforts in concert with clergy and lay leadership
? Develop and oversee additional income streams including facilities rentals
? Office Management
? Supervise all administrative and facilities staff to help them be successful, develop the team in their roles and create a positive, collaborative work environment
? Work in partnership with the clergy, lay leadership and communications staff to develop and align marketing and communications strategies
? Manage the master calendar and maintenance of membership records
? Facilities Management
? Oversee custodial activities in maintaining physical plant and grounds
? Create, maintain, follow and revise as necessary maintenance and replacement plans for all physical property
? Manage contractual agreements related to physical plant
? Technology Oversight
? Recommend and have hands-on oversight and development of IT solutions to improve Temple operations such as online conferencing, website platform, etc.
? Community Connection
? Welcome and shepherd prospective congregants from initial interest through membership. Build warm relationships with new and existing congregants.
? Attend all major congregational events (fundraisers, new member welcome activities, High Holiday services) as well as occasionally attending services and programs for the purpose of getting to know congregants and ensuring the facility, equipment and staff are functioning effectively.
? Attend all Board meetings and appropriate committee meetings

Qualifications:
? Organizing and Planning
? Strong planning skills and ability to plan and develop short- and long-term tactics and goals
? Ability to develop and share planning tools across the Temple staff and Board to ensure the teams are in sync
? Strong organizational skills, detail-orientation, and ability to develop, maintain and manage processes that others will follow
? Experience as a project manager, able to oversee projects of varying scope from germination to implementation
? Ability to create clarity out of ambiguity, gathering data and resources to move a plan forward
? Ability to drive results, turning decisions into action plans, setting and meeting deadlines
? Excellent follow-up skills
? Technology
? IT and audio-visual-savvy, able to understand and implement technology that can support the Temple and its operations
? Able to navigate technology systems such as CRM, Office, Google Drive, WiFi, online conferencing, website management software
? Able to jump in hands-on to solve technical issues where needed
? Communications
? Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to connect effectively with staff, Board and congregants
? Strong customer-service orientation
? Able to engage and build relationships with new and tenured congregants
? People and team leadership
? Leadership skills with proven ability to motivate people, to grow and develop a team and to use different leadership styles to match staff and volunteer needs
? Team builder creating a strong culture by setting tone and to unite and build a bond across the Temple staff
? Analytical
? Financial acumen and analytical skills to understand finance and budgeting
? Purpose-driven
? Passionate about Temple B’nai Torah’s mission, vision and success as spiritual place for Reform Judaism
? Knowledge of and connection to Reform Judaism, its rituals and traditions
? Other Attributes
? Self-starter – able to identify problems and opportunities and to do what’s necessary to meet unforeseen needs
? Problem-solver – ability to troubleshoot and find the resources to resolve issues
? Flexible and adaptable in working with different styles and processes
? Experience working for a non-profit and working with volunteers is preferred
? Experience working in finance, administration, and/or facilities is a plus

Position reports the Temple B’nai Torah Board.
