The Leffell School is a dynamic, cutting-edge K-12 Jewish independent school serving approximately 740 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are excited to be expanding the capabilities of our High School Hebrew Department and are currently accepting applications for the following two positions for the 2021-2022 school year:
High School Hebrew Teacher
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative colleague who is capable of creating dynamic and active lessons that engage students in content, while teaching critical skills within the four streams of Hebrew language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading,and writing. He or she will have mastery in multiple approaches to Hebrew instruction, and teach students at a variety of different levels of fluency across all four grades in the high school. In addition to teaching Hebrew in the classroom, this colleague will model the use of Hebrew in the hallways and throughout the school, while promoting Israeli culture and building strong relationships with students. Experience teaching Hebrew in a formal classroom setting required.
High School Hebrew Teacher with Special Needs Focus
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative colleague and dynamic, engaging Hebrew teacher, with experience teaching students who struggle with language acquisition. He or she will employ specialized training, background, and techniques to help students with language-based and other learning challenges. Background in special education and Hebrew instruction required.
