Job Description & Responsibilities
The Curriculum and Resource Writer will research and write for Sacred Spaces’ growing programs and resources. The writer must be able to quickly master an understanding of the latest research and best practices in the prevention and response of all forms of abuse of power and then craft a range of educational and instructional material that are engaging, concise, and practical.
The Writer reports to the Executive Vice President and works directly with the CEO and VPP on content development. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a start-up culture and is interested in joining with innovative professionals as they work to create large-scale change in the Jewish community.
Produce clear, engaging, and accessible content for Aleinu: Safeguarding our Children, a forthcoming Policy Toolkit, scripts for educational videos, range of trainings, fact sheets, and other resources and materials as our range of programs grow.
Align material contents to the program goals, objectives, end-user experience, and for various audiences.
Gather all necessary content required for the materials by both utilizing in-house staff expertise, research, and feedback from users to ensure materials reflect the latest best practices.
Manage material development timeline including estimating accurately the development time required and managing the progress to bring materials to completion.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant abuse prevention and response research as assigned.
Works on related writing materials as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills of Ideal Candidate:
Exceptional writing and editing skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to produce engaging, compelling and nuanced resources.
Minimum five years of writing and resource development experience, including backgrounds in curriculum writing or journalism. Preference for abuse prevention and response subject matter expertise.
Skilled at synthesizing raw data into user-friendly, interesting learning modules, worksheets, and training.
Thorough understanding of pedagogy and educational best practices, including digital platforms.
Strong time-management skills and the ability to work at a fast-pace and meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects.
Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and collaboratively with partners.
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Collaborative and flexible style, with a growth mindset and team approach.
Commitment to the mission of the organization.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience.
