Congregation Ansche Chesed, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a dynamic educator and administrator to serve as Interim Education and Family Program Director, overseeing our Hebrew School, Family and Youth Programs during the 5782 Jewish year (July 2021 - June 2022). This one-year position will provide leadership in a critical area of synagogue life, covering phases when one of our rabbis is on maternity leave and then when another is on sabbatical. While we are currently hiring for a one-year interim position, we look forward to exploring opportunities for future growth.
The Interim Education and Family Program Director will oversee all aspects of our Hebrew School program, and have primary responsibility for designing and implementing family and youth programming in the AC community. S/he will supervise administrative (e.g. calendaring, room reservation, ordering food, marketing, etc.) as well as programmatic elements of our Education and Youth program.
The Interim Education Director is expected to communicate and collaborate with various key stakeholders in the Ansche Chesed community, including our rabbis, hazzan, and lay leaders as appropriate. Under the supervision of our rabbis, the Interim Education Director will evaluate existing programming, and bring fresh, innovative ideas to our community, so that we can continue to provide relevant, meaningful programming to our families.

Hours and Compensation:
This is a full-time position, including flexible weekday hours, as well as weekend, holiday and occasional evening hours.
$70,000 + medical insurance, 2 weeks vacation
