Position: Director, Early Childhood Center
About: Olam Jewish Montessori is an early childhood center located in Irvine, California, a beautiful, planned city just off the Orange County coast, 45 minutes south of Los Angeles. Founded as the first Jewish Montessori preschool in Orange County, Olam provides a hands-on environment that allows students the freedom and guidance to fall in love with learning, Judaism, friends, and the possibilities of what they can achieve. It offers an infant program (beginning at 3 months) and a preschool program (through 5 years of age), currently serving approximately 30 children. It is part of the Beth Jacob of Irvine complex in the University Park community, steps from the campus and amenities of the University of California Irvine.
Responsibilities: The Director’s responsibilities include:
Overseeing the growth and development of Olam’s educational faculty; recruiting, hiring, supervising, mentoring, evaluating, supporting, and learning with staff and assistants
Communicating with parents regularly about school activities and learning opportunities; generally leading a culture of collaborative growth (including events post-pandemic!) while serving as a resource in early childhood development for parents
Ensuring teacher and school compliance with state and city protocols and procedures
Serve as the lead Judaic educator, developing a child-centered vision for Judaic learning that fosters exploration, cognitive skill building, social-emotional development, empathy-building, and reflection
Recruitment and retention of families
Shaping the culture, tone, and vision of the ECC in alignment with the mission of Olam Jewish Montessori and Beth Jacob of Irvine

Qualifications: The Director should have:
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
Minimum of 3 years early childhood education and administrative experience
Must have ECE Licensing or the ability to attain it without difficulty or delay (by mid-June at the latest)
A deep passion for and literacy of Judaism
Experience in child-centered education (e.g. Montessori, Reggio, etc.) coupled with a willingness to learn the Montessori approach
Formal training and a demonstrated commitment to professional development in ECE
Strong written and oral communication skills
A warm, approachable demeanor
A can-do attitude!

Salary & Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience, starting at no less than 75,000.00 per year
