JLA, a new Miami area selective Jewish Middle and High School, seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to oversee and implement all brand, marketing, and PR functions for the school as it prepares to open for the Fall of 2023.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that includes all appropriate avenues for digital, social media, and traditional marketing before, during, and after the school’s launch.
Create and implement PR strategy to introduce and familiarize the Miami Jewish community with JLA, its core values, and its leadership.
Create and manage production/publication processes for multiple communication products: newsletters, social media channels, websites, etc.
Create and manage marketing and communications metrics to measure effectiveness using pre-established key performance indicators.
Manage media relations, including writing and distributing press releases and cultivating relations with local media outlets.
Oversee and implement creation of school videos.
Build, manage, and maintain communications databases.
Collaborate with the Admissions Office on admissions-themed advertisements, marketing materials, events, tours, and information sessions.
Assist with the writing, editing and production of communications for the Head of School, and other administrators and faculty.
Oversee brand consistency across all publications and divisions.
Photograph on-and off-site events; maintain the archival photo library.
Basic graphic design and production of slide decks, advertisements, digital media, handbooks, event invitations and programs, etc.
Develop and manage relationships with website vendor, photographers, graphic designers and printing firms.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, and social media promotion.
Demonstrated success managing multiple projects with shifting priorities and competing deadlines, including developing, monitoring, and adhering to budgets and production schedules.
Self-starter and excellent project manager.
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Strong time management, organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
Deep understanding of various social media platforms.
Familiarity with web design and publishing, as well as SEO and web traffic metrics.
Strong understanding of Adobe design and editing software.
Basic video editing skills.
Knowledge of Miami area Jewish community strongly preferred.
*Knowledge of Spanish, Hebrew and / or Portuguese is an asset.
