The Education Department Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Religious School Director and the Executive Director, requires good oral and written communication skills and must have the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality. In this position, the person will gain wide-ranging experience in multiple aspects of organizational administration. All positions at Midway Jewish Center require individuals to be strong multi-taskers and independent problem-solvers, have excellent communication and project-management skills, work well under supervision and be extremely organized.
This person will coordinate office functions such as answering most Religious School phone calls, purchasing supplies and will act as a liaison with parents. Will provide customer service and ensure constant professionalism in the office, will serve as the first line of contact for families who are contacting the Religious School. The person in this position will follow Midway Jewish Center’s operating policies and will exercise independent judgment in the resolution of administrative challenges.
Additionally, this person will support the daily operations of running the Religious School and all other Youth programming, upholding the vision, mission, objectives and overall educational philosophy of Midway Jewish Center. The Religious School / Youth Department Administrative Assistant interfaces with all other departments at Midway Jewish Center.
Reports to: Religious School Director and the Executive Director
Hours / Time Off: Sunday – 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Monday /Wednesday / Thursday – 10 am – 6:00 pm
Tuesday – 12:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Full-time, FLSA classification (exempt and not eligible for OT)
Two weeks paid vacation / 5 Personal days to be used during a calendar year
Five sick days to be carried over for five years
This position requires some evening/weekends and the ability to be available nonstandard hours when the need arises.
