70 Faces Media, the largest and most diverse Jewish media organization in North America, is seeking an Online Fundraising and Engagement Manager to create and implement a strategic online fundraising plan for the six major publications under our umbrella. The manager will work with our Audience team and our Editorial teams to encourage our website visitors, newsletter subscribers, and social media followers to become donors.
The Manager will manage and optimize all communications with our audiences around digital fundraising, including email solicitations, social media posts, one-to-one messages, and sometimes, direct mail. In 2020 we saw a 25% increase in gifts from individual donors, and the person in this position will institutionalize what worked in 2020 and forge new paths for digital fundraising in 2021, with the goal of increasing our total digital fundraising revenue by at least another 25% in 2021. The Manager will engage with our newsletter subscribers to build trust and loyalty in order to increase donations, steward our current online donors through a deeper relationship with us that increases their donations, and build out our recurring giving program.
This position reports to the VP, Audience and Digital Strategy, 70 Faces Media. The Manager will be part of a small but mighty Audience and Engagement team, and will be responsible for both the strategic planning for online fundraising as well as the day-to-day, hands-on implementation.
-Develop and execute online fundraising campaigns, including our three major Jewish holiday campaigns, recurring giving programs, and special appeals.
-Integrate giving opportunities into the everyday editorial offerings of our publications, including newsletters, social media, special features, and more.
-Work with our technology team and philanthropy team to evaluate potential new fundraising and donor management tools for the organization to use.
-Reinvigorate and oversee the giving society for larger individual donors, developing a set of benefits for these donors and marketing giving society opportunities to convert more members.
-Write and edit copy for email communications, social media, and letters to solicit donations.
-Create and implement testing plans to optimize revenue from fundraising campaigns, including email subject lines and copy, fundraising page copy and design, image use, and more.
-Develop and implement a plan for reconnecting with lapsed donors and drive new revenue from them.
-Communicate with individual donors as necessary to encourage continued giving, answer questions, showcase content they might be interested in, etc.
-Sustain and grow online giving and monthly giving programs with particular focus on converting newsletter subscribers
-Produce and send all fundraising emails.
-Additional projects as needed.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
-2+ years of online fundraising, communication, or marketing experience.
-Familiarity with email marketing and email production processes.
-Understanding of online fundraising tools and general web savviness.
-Proven ability to write clearly, concisely, and convincingly for a digital audience.
-Good visual eye for photos and artwork to accompany email and social campaigns.
-Basic understanding of donation metrics, to create reports on the success of various campaigns.
-Understanding of and familiarity with the Jewish calendar and our Jewish media organization’s key accomplishments to inform campaign copy and timing.
-Detail- and deadline-oriented.
-Motivated by wanting to meet or exceed specific goals, and committed to putting in the work to achieve them.
