Grants & Scholarships Coordinator

The Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester is hiring a Grants & Scholarships Coordinator to administer and promote its Camp scholarships (including One Happy Camper), Israel scholarships, Freddy Fund program and Gift of Israel program, as well as manage The Foundation’s donor-advised grant recommendations.

Administering the One Happy Camper, Israel scholarship and Gift of Israel programs. This includes:

  • Oversee marketing plans, including:

    • Community wide mailing to advertise grants
    • Social media postings
    • Contact synagogues, schools and organizations

  • Grants administration

    • Monitor portals for new applicants, and follow-up with applicants as needed
    • Interface with programs and families regarding inquiries and awards
    • Prepare materials for scholarship committees
    • Prepare award letters and facilitate grants

  • Outreach:

    • Attend community programs to advertise OHC and Israel scholarships
    • Contact camps; interact with synagogues, schools and Jewish organizations to raise awareness
    • Site visits with camps

    Foundation Grants Administration:

    • Process daily grant recommendations for monthly distributions
    • Conduct due diligence on grant recommendations from donor advised funds
    • Assist in distribution process – donor advised funds and restricted funds
    • Assist in distribution process – donor advised funds and restricted funds

    Other tasks and projects as assigned including donor relationship building

    Personal characteristics of the individual in this position include:

    • Enthusiastic, energetic, well organized and good follow-up
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks
    • High level computer skills including Microsoft Office, social networking, databases, and other applications
    • Enjoys working with young people and families
    • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed
