TBS is searching for an upbeat and proactive Facilities Manager who can work 25-30 hours/week. This individual would be responsible for all matters related to building maintenance, upkeep, and logistics, including but not limited to janitorial, event set up and support, building upkeep, and maintaining building supplies. This role has flexible hours during the weekdays, with an emphasis on support during Friday evening services, Saturday morning services, and an occasional weekday evening. The ability to work within an informal setting, interact with members of the TBS community, and have a fun and upbeat demeanor are key.
Summary of Responsibilities
With supervision from the Executive Director, in accordance with the needs and vision of the rabbis:
Janitorial: Maintain a consistently clean building on a weekly basis, which includes:
o Emptying trash and recycling
o Cleaning bathrooms
o Running the dishwasher
o Disinfecting common surfaces (e.g. doorknobs, countertops)
Event Support: Ensure that the in-building logistical needs of events are met, which includes:
o Working with the rabbis and Executive Director to understand the needs and of events
o Working on event setup hours before the event start time, or in the case of weekend events, arriving at least one hour before the event’s designated start time
o Providing the proper number of tables and chairs in the designated event space
o Being responsible for closing the building after events
Building Upkeep: Ensure that the building is always well organized and presentable, which includes:
o Resetting the configuration of the building after events
o Maintaining a high-quality interior and exterior presence, which involves general building maintenance (e.g. changing of lightbulbs)
o Ongoing monitoring of building systems, and identifying issues that require fixing (e.g. water damage)
Maintaining Building Supplies: Ensure that the building’s supplies are always well stocked and maintained, which includes:
o Making sure that the bathrooms and kitchens have adequate paper supplies
o Maintaining the building’s supply of cleaning products
o Work with Office Manager to manage space in the building’s storeroom
