Congregation B’nai Israel of Toms River, NJ is looking for a professional, conscientious, self starting, personable individual to join us as Synagogue Administrator. Generally, the Administrator will administer the synagogue's operations at the direction of the President of the Board of Trustees and in Partnership with the clergy.
Responsibilities will include:
Overseeing all day to day operations of the synagogue, including financial management, policy development, contract negotiation and direction of non-synagogue partners and vendors.
Overseeing the critical operations of the facility, including daily operations, technology, communication systems, risk management, and office administration. Serving as key contact for clergy, bookkeeper, Committee Chairs, and volunteers. Administrator shall also work with the Chair of the Cemetery Committee to support and carry out the operations of the Cemetery.
Fiscal management, working closely with the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair and bookkeeper.
Human Resource Management over all secular staff, including hiring, training, and development of employee policy.
*Acting as the primary and personal liaison with congregants on a daily basis; assisting with and hosting synagogue programs; calendaring and commemorating life cycle events and Jewish Holidays
