Associate Manager, Learning & Research

POSITION OVERVIEW
FJC is seeking an Associate Manager, Learning and Research to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing evaluation and research for a variety of camp programs focused on human and child development. The candidate should be passionate about some or all of the following: youth development; community and human development; mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health; and Jewish education. The successful candidate will have a blend of conceptual research skills; technical skills; an interpersonal work style; and an unwavering commitment to quality, excellence, and community. The Associate Manager, Learning and Research will work with FJC’s data team and will report to the Director of Learning and Research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and project management:
• Effectively manage and execute on research and evaluation plans.
• Help refine scopes of work, research and evaluation questions, evaluation plans, and study instruments.
• Facilitate planning meetings, keep effective notes, and create systems to move projects through implementation.

Implementation of data collection:
• Adapt methods to the research questions using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Draft or refine survey instruments and other protocols according to evaluation design.
• Manage the launch and implementation of data collection activities; gather secondary data from existing databases; conduct key informant interviews, focus groups, or observations; and coordinate and manage the resources to do so including timelines and scopes.

Analysis:
• Apply principles in the fields of statistics, survey methodology, and/or other social science.
• Create analysis plans, conduct data cleaning and verification, manage the process of data cleaning, conduct QAQC, analyze data, and synthesize multiple kinds of data to produce summaries and key findings.

Reporting:
• Draft evaluation reports and summaries, including visual charts and slide deck presentations.
• Create presentations that weave together qualitative and quantitative insights for data-informed understanding.
• Help prepare or draft proposals and other internal or external communications summarizing research methods, findings, and implications.

Data-to-action:
• Lead and deliver data share-outs to cross-functional teams to encourage internal and organizational learning.
• Help facilitate data-to-action sessions to make the most use of learnings, deliver actionable research insights, and define next steps.
Additional responsibilities, as determined by the Director of Learning and Research.


CREDENTIALS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
• Graduate degree in social science, quantitative psychology, statistics, social sciences, social work, education, or public health or related field -OR- equivalent additional years of work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working as an evaluator or researcher in applied settings, coordinating or managing multiple evaluation/research projects simultaneously.
• Content knowledge regarding two or more of the following areas: experiential education, youth and young adult development, family support and resilience, camp, Jewish education, public health, and mental health.
• Experience creating and refining survey instruments and other measurement tools.
• Experience coordinating and analyzing quantitative data.
• Familiarity with analysis/survey software (Qualtrics, Survey Gizmo, Tableau, r, SPSS, etc).
• Knowledge of qualitative research and evaluation methods.
• Experience with survey design, sampling, and statistical analyses of survey and behavioral data.
• Experience with project management processes and/or software.

COMPENSATION DETAILS
The salary for this position is $70,000. FJC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: medical, dental, and vision coverage; a company-paid Group Medical Bridge plan that provides additional out-of-pocket coverage for a variety of medical services; commuter benefit; Flexible Spending Account; 401K plan; 15 days paid vacation annually; early closure for Shabbat and major holiday eves; and office closure for all major Jewish and secular holidays.
