IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement @ USC Hillel

IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement

Role Overview
Enrich the lives of Jewish students by joining USC Hillel as our IACT Coordinator. IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed) is an initiative that builds on the success of Birthright Israel by offering support and inspiration to students before, during, and beyond the trip. As an integral member of our student life professional team, you will oversee a comprehensive engagement strategy dedicated to creating community around our Israel experiences at the University of Southern California. In this role, you will have the opportunity to spearhead a thriving and impactful program on one of the most exciting campuses in the world, while growing in a nurturing and supportive professional environment. USC Hillel sends upwards of 120 students to Israel on a Birthright trip each year.

Building meaningful relationships with students as a mentor and partner, you will design a Birthright recruitment effort that leverages the talent of your colleagues, student leaders, and interns to meet ambitious trip participation goals. You will travel to Israel regularly as a staff member for our winter and summer Birthright trips. You will bring your collaborative vision to facilitating impactful campus experiences that deepen student connections to Israel and Jewish identity, and guide students toward committed involvement in Hillel and Jewish life. Just as we aspire to expand our student Birthright experience well beyond the parameters of the trip, as a professional you will have the opportunity to pursue areas of passion and personal interest, and to put your skills to work inspiring the next generation of Jewish leadership. After a year of virtual operation during the pandemic, you will play a central role in tackling the challenges of our return to life on campus.

What You’ll Do
- Manage USC Hillel’s Birthright Israel program including recruitment, interviews, pre-trip orientations, and enhancing the trip experience. Ensure post-trip follow up and continued engagement with Hillel among Birthright alumni

- Build 180+ personal relationships with students marginally affiliated with Jewish life, guiding them toward enriching Jewish communal experiences

- Supervise Birthright recruitment interns and facilitate their growth as student leaders
- Collaborate with your colleagues on comprehensive programming, including our signature events in the Israel space
- Manage and implement use of the IACT programmatic budget
