Congregation Or Ami, in Lafayette Hill, PA, is looking to hire a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills to oversee and direct all areas related to the administration, facility and office management of our 220 family reform congregation.
This full-time position will work in the synagogue office Mondays through Fridays 9:00 – 5:00. Attendance at monthly Board of Trustee evening meetings is required (currently on zoom) as well as occasional attendance at other committee meetings, events held in the synagogue on weeknights or weekends.
As the Office Administrator, you will report directly to the synagogue President(s) and will work closely with the Rabbi, Early Childhood Education Center Director, Religious School Director, staff and volunteers to coordinate operations and activities across the organization. You will interact with congregants and prospective members as well as with outside organizations requesting information about, or involved in, joint functions and activities with Congregation Or Ami.

You have two years nonprofit community-based or religious institution experience.
You have knowledge of Jewish customs and practices is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Effective communication with staff, congregants, potential congregants, the Board of Trustees and others interacting with the synagogue office. Communication methods include, but are not limited to: in-person, email, social media, website, phone and regular mail.
Maintain day-to-day operations of the synagogue, coordinating maintenance of the building and property.
Oversee and ensure timely and proper input of all financial transactions into applicable programs, including dues, pledges, and payments. Execute bank deposits promptly and accurately.
Review and submit all vendor invoices for payment to our outside bookkeeping service. Manage all vendor contracts.
Must adhere to strict confidentiality, ability to recognize and handle confidential information in an appropriate manner.
Assist Board of Trustees and committee chairs in accomplishing their objectives
Plan and coordinate the communication, set up and clean up for all religious services, religious school classes, congregational classes, lifecycle events and synagogue events.
Manage the synagogue’s congregation management software (Shulcloud) for existing, new and potential members, annual renewal and billing. Coordinate efforts with Membership Committee and leadership.
Collaborate with members to support grant writing.
