Reports to: Director of Member Services
Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Department: Member Services and Engagement
Work Schedule: Tuesdays through Saturdays. Daily hours will depend on CBE’s event schedule. Must be available to work every Friday until 8:00 pm in support of the clergy team for Shabbat and some additional evening and weekend hours as required. Must be able to work during the High Holy Days and other Jewish holidays.
Reporting to the Director of Member Services and working closely with the Director of Engagement, this position is a key member of the Member Services and Engagement team responsible for all communication channels. This includes updating the CBE web site, preparing weekly emails and social media posts, and proofreading printed materials. In addition, Communications and Virtual Events Coordinator is responsible for facilitating CBE’s Zoom and live-streamed events, including Friday night and Saturday morning services and evening community events. This position works in close collaboration with clergy and administrative staff.
The successful candidate will be organized, flexible, a skilled time manager, and a great collaborator and team player. This individual must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be able to work independently.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
-In conjunction with the Director of Engagement, supports CBE programming through the implementation of social media, website, general community communications and the ongoing management of technologically based communications
-Creates and implements links and forms as needed to support CBE programming and activities
-In conjunction with the Director of Engagement, assists CBE support staff responsible for this function in their respective areas.
-Updates and creates graphics using Canva or similar software
-In conjunction with the Director of Member Services, takes a lead role in creating Zoom links for programming. Stays on top of Zoom security issues and best practices.
-In conjunction with the Director of Member Services, takes a lead role in virtual ushering and live-streaming of community events and Shabbat Services
-Works with the Director of Member Services to train other support staff team members on virtual ushering, live-streaming and the creation of forms
-In conjunction with the Director of Engagement, works with support staff team members to effectively use Constant Contact in their respective areas
-Documents all procedures and processes and securely maintains a list of passwords and other key communications information in a document accessible to the Executive Director, Director of Member Services, and Director of Engagement.
-Maintains an organized file of any print materials produced for CBE events and programming
General Administrative Support:
-Part of the team responsible for live-streaming / virtual ushering, and ultimately onsite support of Shabbat and community events, as directed by the Director of Member Services
-Part of the administrative team responsible for general membership communications such as statements, ongoing acknowledgement letters, High Holy Day mailings and other communications as directed by the Director of Member Services
-Supports Executive Director as needed
-As directed by the CBE senior staff, involved with various tasks related to the integration of Union Temple.
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
-Two years of related communications, web, or social media work experience
-Comfortable working with clergy and demonstrate an interest in learning Shabbat service
-Experience with WordPress and Constant Contact
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
-Proficient with various social media platforms and is comfortable working with technology platforms such as, but not limited to, Zoom, Slack and Asana
-Impeccable attention to detail and keen sense of urgency
-Comfortable being in a forward-facing role; excellent customer services skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Professional demeanor and proven track record of working well with others
