Romemu is a Jewish spiritual community based on Manhattan’s Upper West Side with a growing national and international presence. Romemu seeks an upbeat, go-getter Membership & Development Associate who can manage and analyze data, support small events, wants to work in a fast-paced-yet-spiritual, avant-garde, and growing Jewish spiritual center, and is looking for tremendous growth opportunities!

This position has the potential to be partially or fully remote. Candidates in any geographic location are welcome to apply; however, working hours will be based on US continental time zones.

The Membership & Development Associate reports to the Membership & Development Manager, with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Advancement.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Execute administration of all development, major gifts/capital campaign, membership, and special events initiatives, including data management and reporting, gift processing and acknowledgment, invitation lists, mailings, and pledge invoicing
Support annual schedule of engagement, solicitation, and fulfillment activities to maintain and build our individual member and donor base
Assist with resources for volunteer/lay leadership fundraising and engagement committees
Respond to inquiries from members/donors promptly and gracefully
Support staff learning of database best practices and procedures
Assist with drafting member correspondence, solicitation letters, and cases for support
Event production support

2 years of prior database experience preferred
Adept at using technology, particularly tools such as Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and Asana
Strong initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, clear writing and critical thinking skills, and demonstrated organizational abilities
Proven ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with extreme attention to detail, deadlines, and results
Communicate with poise, sophistication, and intellectual depth when speaking with members
Handle sensitive information confidentially
Ability to work well in a team setting, showing respect for all, emotional maturity, and a good sense of humor

Additional Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated commitment to Romemu’s mission, purpose, and values
Experience in the Jewish world and/or with the Jewish calendar
*Experience and ease in working with a Jewish and multi-faith, socio-economically, and politically diverse population
