SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR
Rabbi Albert I. Gordon Religious School – Temple Emanuel

The School Administrator position provides office support to the Religious School Director regarding all things related to the operational success of the Religious School’s programs and activities. The work environment is fast paced and fun and we work as a congenial, supportive team. This position serves as the Director’s right hand and is the face of the school.

Position Schedule:
Sundays 9:00am – 1:00pm (during the school year)
Tuesday/Thursday 1:00pm – 6:30pm
Wednesday 10:00-3:00

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including but not limited to:
• Provide administrative and project support to the RS Director in all areas pertaining to the successful running of a large and busy Religious School
• Interact positively with students, parents, teachers and congregants on a daily basis
• Disseminate information clearly and concisely
• Assist in coordinating and executing large school programs
• Process check requests, update budget, maintain calendar, and other spreadsheets
• Maintain registration and attendance records
• Maintain classroom schedules to ensure that rooms are booked and equipped accordingly
• Manage and create databases to maintain student information for tracking and record keeping
• Create regular email blasts, handbooks, and other communication tools
• Prepare payroll information
• Communicate and coordinate on various projects with other synagogue staff
• Maintain office and school supplies
• display a high level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality
• Enforce and follow Covid-19 protocols as determined by the synagogue.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• A pleasant disposition and patience with children of all ages as well as adults
• Fast learner
• Strong follow-through skills and positive attitude in assisting others
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Word, Excel as well as other programs
• Ability to use various types of office equipment such as scanners, laminators, copiers

• Familiarity with Jewish customs and culture a plus
• College degree is preferred
• 3 years of office experience
