Program Manager, Events - Bronfman Center for Jewish Life @ 92nd Street Y

Program Manager, Events - Bronfman Center for Jewish Life

As the Y approaches its 150th anniversary in 2024, and with all that we have learned from our successful and increasing venture into the arena of “digital” programming, 92Y and its Bronfman Center for Jewish Life seeks a Program Manager, Events to join in supporting a new and expanded model for Jewish Life at the Y, in New York City and beyond. This is all in keeping with a bold strategic vision, supported by its senior management and its Board of Directors to launch 92Y into its next chapter, in which the Bronfman Center will become one of four primary divisions in the Y’s programmatic structure.
In its newly adopted Mission Statement, the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life has focused on its potential role as a Jewish “home” for Jews around the world who are:

• Searchers: These individuals have generally not affiliated with established Jewish institutions. Some define themselves as “secular” and are not comfortable in synagogues. Some, but not all, are individuals (Jews and their non-Jewish partners) who are either intermarried or in relationships that put them on a track towards intermarriage and who have not been able to anchor themselves in a Jewish institution that feels comfortable or accepting of them and their relationship status.
• Presently Unconnected (Unaffiliated): These individuals have, in the past, been affiliated with established Jewish institutions, but have since allowed their affiliation to lapse for a variety of shifting programmatic and financial reasons.
• Enhancers: These individuals are affiliated with established Jewish institutions but are seeking to supplement their affiliation with programming that traditional Jewish institutions often cannot or do not offer.
By catering to the entire Jewish community, but with a particular focus on the types of individuals above, the Bronfman Center for Jewish Life seeks to create a replicable model for other Jewish institutions across the United States and internationally. Reporting to the Director of Administration the Program Manager, Events will oversee the successful planning and execution of the Bronfman Center’s events, classes, holiday events, and other special projects to ensure 92Y’s continuing and expanding engagement with the Jewish community both locally and globally.

The Program Manager will be responsible for the logistical operation of Jewish afterschool program and be a visible presence at events, High Holiday Services, festivals, and dinners, classes, and study groups to ensure both successful delivery and a positive patron experience.
