Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:
The Administrative assistant will support professional and volunteer leadership through a variety of tasks to ensure efficient organization, confidentiality and time-sensitive communication in the office. The primary role of this position is to serve as an Administrative assistant to a full-time member of the clergy, of a large and vibrant religious organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintains calendar accuracy by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, travel and lifecycle events
• Coordinates the communication, implementation and overall management of all projects, working closely with leadership team to develop strategies and procedures
• Welcomes guests and members by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and answering or directing inquires
• Screens visitors and calls
• Writes correspondence as requested
• Keeps track of charitable contributions
• Maintains a professional liaison with staff, leadership and members of the congregation
• Manages logistics for programs, classes, events and meetings as needed
• Keeps thorough files and history of prior correspondence, meetings and officiation of events
• Acts as administrative support for Youth Director and Youth Department, including operations and logistics for youth groups, teen religious school program, and other teen trips and activities

Skill and Educational Requirements:
• Excellent verbal communication skills, record-keeping, Outlook, Microsoft Office skills, organization, time management and presentation skills
• Effective written communication skills including creating and editing letters, press releases and program publicity such as newsletter articles and digital content
• Accurate and timely completion of work
• Ability to gather information and materials to present them in a professional and creative manner
• Excellent organizational, team and independent work skills, especially as needed to support a senior member of the clergy
• Desire and dedication to further the goals and mission of Temple Israel
• Highschool/GED and at least 2 years of college required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
