The position is to be a full-time member of the KJ Synagogue office staff with responsibility for many facets of synagogue communication and operations. You will be responsible for answering the synagogue’s telephones; responding to emails; assisting affiliate and volunteer groups like Sisterhood, Men’s Club, Young Professionals and Chesed Committee; managing logistics and reservations for our robust outreach program and attending their periodic Friday night catered Shabbat dinners; preparing letters and mass mailings for rabbis and administrators; filing and photocopying; servicing walk-in congregants, and tending to the various needs of a very busy synagogue office. To perform your job, you will be operating and servicing all of our office machines such as copiers, printers, scanners, postal devices, etc. The people who have worked out well in this role have been those who view themselves as part of a team whose players often share overlapping coverage zones and who readily cover for one another. Emphasis is placed on cheerfully, helpfully and proactively assisting the many people who contact or visit the synagogue office.
