Education Manager

The Education Manager plays a key role in Shorashim by focusing on staffing, education, orientations, & eligibility for Birthright Israel. This position also oversees the accessibility Birthright Israel trip while assisting with the administrative & logistical functions of Birthright Israel programs with Shorashim. The Education Manager works closely with all members of the North American team & our Education Director, based in Israel.

Specific Responsibilities:
Recruit, interview, & hire Birthright Israel trip staff
Arrange & facilitate the implementation of staff trainings, both in-person & virtual
Organize & execute Birthright Israel participant orientations
Act as team lead on Birthright Israel eligibility; assist applicants with questions/issues
Oversee all logistical components of the accessibility trip every December
Collaborate with colleagues to manage incoming & outgoing communications
Engage effectively with participants, parents, & staff via email & phone, both during the registration process & while participants are on the ground in Israel
Represent Shorashim at Birthright Israel Fellows conference
Work in partnership with Israel office on trip itineraries & other education items
Help with logistics for when trips depart for Israel

Required Skills/Experience:
Must have staffed a Birthright Israel trip
Knowledge & passion for Israel; Relevant Israel experience
Self-starter, who is motivated; someone who thinks innovatively & outside the box
Excellent writing & proofreading skills
Effectual time /project management skills; organized & detail oriented
Outgoing & personable; Efficient communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Patience & ability to instruct individuals over the phone/via email
Ability to work evenings/Sundays
Willingness to travel, at times

Preferred Experience: 2-3 years of work experience
