Temple Emanuel of Newton is seeking an outstanding professional to serve as our Young Families Engagement Coordinator (Dor Chadash). We are looking to expand our outreach, visibility, and programming for our Dor Chadash community. Temple Emanuel is a destination for young families, a hub of activity, and a thriving engaged community. The Dor Chadash Coordinator will serve as a highly visible, warm, and friendly liaison between our preschool community, the greater Boston/Newton community and the synagogue community. The coordinator will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive year-round programming for young families in the community and creating opportunities for parents and children to connect with each other and with Judaism in fun, exciting and energetic ways. The ideal candidate for this position is warm, approachable, detail oriented, a creative thinker, passionate, organized and loves engaging with individuals, families and young children.

Responsibilities include:
Event planning and management of all young family programming to include but not limited to; monthly Dor Chadash events, Taste of Shabbat Alive, Classes, Stroller Walk, leading and/or coordinating weekly Tot Shabbat service, and new programming to complement our comprehensive approach.
Engagement of current preschool families through year-round programs and activities.
* Working closely with Preschool Director and other Temple Emanuel staff to build visibility for the Preschool and Temple Emanuel early childhood communities (families with children ages 0-5.)
* Oversee weekly Tot Shabbat service.

BA required. Experience in early childhood (EEC Certification), Jewish Engagement or other related experience preferred. Some nights and weekends required. This is a part-time position, 20-25 hours/week. Salary commensurate with experience.
Temple Emanuel is a Conservative, fully egalitarian congregation affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts. With a membership of over 1,200 families, it represents a diversity of Jews from Newton and surrounding communities.
