The Village is a hip Jewish Outreach Center located in the heart of WeHo that is dedicated to creating the ultimate Jewish experiences for millennials through spectacular events and products, and outstanding educational, spiritual and social opportunities.
The Village seeks a creative and experienced Program & Event Coordinator to join our passionate team of innovators to coordinate and execute outstanding, meaningful programs and events. The Special Projects and Administrative Coordinator would primarily work closely with Head of Programming & Events, Chana Fogelman, and at times, Rabbi Zalmy, Executive Director.
The Special Projects and Administrative Coordinator role will cover community events, ongoing Village programming, our Chana’s Challah division and our Young Professionals division.
The duties and responsibilities of a Program & Event Coordinator center on planning and managing events of varying sizes and purposes. Coordinator will need to understand what it takes to make sure the logistics work out, keep everything within the allocated budget, ensure that the event itself is carried out smoothly and address any potential problems that may arise.
The successful candidate is creative, organized, efficient, a motivated high-performer with attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Candidate is a team player, understands the culture of a hip non-profit, and nuances of religious standards, demonstrates project management skills, and employs excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Special Projects and Administrative
The Village Programming
Coordinate the planning of Bar/Bat Mitzvah Academy, Women’s Monthly Wine and Wisdom and Monthly Mensch Club. (will not be teaching these programs)
Holiday & Life Cycle Events
Coordinate the planning, production and execution of The Village Holiday & Life Cycle Events including but not limited to: High Holidays at the Village, Sukkot Celebrations, Simchat Torah Celebration, Chanukah Celebrations, Tu B’shvat, Grand Purim Parties, Passover Seders, Lag B’omer Celebrations, Shavuot Celebrations.
Coordinate and execute Shabbat Dinners, Annual Havdallah Jam, Bake-offs, Adult Lecture Series and Panels,
Coordinate the planning and execution of our city wide events including our Pop up Sukkah at Pan Pacific Park and Menorah Lighting Ceremony at the Grove
Chana’s Challah Bakes
Coordination and execution of challah bakes.
Together with Rabbi & Chana and our Young Professionals Board, coordinate the planning and execution of Young Professionals Shabbat Dinners, Panels, Holiday Events, and Events
Provide administrative support for Head of Programming & Events and Executive Director, including communication, scheduling, and overall administrative needs.
** Two years related experience in organizational leadership, public service, project management or similar work in the non-profit or education
