Adath Israel’s Religious School is critical to our mission, and is vibrant and growing with 106 students, spanning pre-school through 8th grade.
Adath Israel Congregation seeks a dynamic and innovative strategic thinker to join our senior leadership team. This person will lead Adath Israel’s Religious School and will work with our Rabbi, our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and our Adath Israel Team.

The Director of Education will be responsible for:
Establishing and maintaining an effective, positive, and safe learning environment
Organizing, scheduling & overseeing religious education programs for pre-school thru 8th grade.
Overseeing religious school operations and managing day-to-day activities
Creating and implementing dynamic and engaging curriculum in cooperation with Rabbi
Hiring, supervising, and evaluating schoolteachers and staff
Coordinating teacher professional development
Collaborating with our B’nai Mitzvah teacher and Rabbi on B’nai Mitzvah preparations
Working with our COO in forming and managing the school budget
Preparing and supervising all reports, records, and other paperwork
Ordering and/or purchasing all supplies, books, resource materials, furniture, and equipment
An undergraduate degree in education or Jewish studies with either a M.A.in Jewish Studies, Education, or commensurate experience in a Jewish educational environment
At least 3 - 5 years of teaching experience in a Jewish Religious School setting or a combination of public school and religious school.
Experience with supervising and evaluating staff
Experience in Operations and Budget Management
School administrative experience is preferred
Strong Judaic knowledge and basic Hebrew preferred
This position is full-time with a start date as soon as possible.
Position requires working onsite on Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, and other meetings and needs as appropriate (during the school year).
Position reports to Senior Rabbi regarding Judaic matters and COO on administrative and budget responsibilities.
