Rabbinic and B'nai Mitzvah Assistant

Reports to: Associate Rabbi Ronit Tsadok

Duration: Full time (non-exempt; includes some Friday nights, Saturday mornings, occasional holiday and evening hours)

Summary: The Rabbinic Assistant and B’nai Mitzvah Assistant is an integral member of the IKAR team and works closely with our clergy. This person provides support to IKAR’s Rabbis and Hazan/Music Director and serves as a liaison between B’nai mitzvah parents and staff. This person also provides administrative support to the Education team.

Responsibilities and Tasks Include:

Liaise with B’nai mitzvah parents and staff to coordinate the B’nai mitzvah process, including:

Organizing date selection process;

Serving as point person for all family B’nai mitzvah needs;

Scheduling meetings with clergy;

Preparing materials for students and families in advance of meetings.

Manage calendars for three rabbis and one hazan/music director and provide general administrative support.

Participate in rotation to staff Shabbat services on occasional Friday nights and Shabbat mornings.

Provide administrative support to Limudim and other children’s programming (e.g., High Holy Days);
