JDC has an exciting opportunity for a fundraising professional or grant writer to join us the Entwine program as a Resource Development Associate. The Resource Development Associate will assist the Executive Director and Director of Development in Entwine’s resource development execution. They will play a significant role in grant writing, grant and donor management, and assist with donor relations and stewardship.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in a long-term development career, looking to gain experience across the fundraising function.
What will you do as a Resource Development Associate?
-Draft grant proposals and reports for new and existing funders, including individuals and foundations, in coordination with program staff
-Maintain and update donor information in Raiser’s Edge/Salesforce and pull reports when needed
-Manage and track deliverables for and income from grants, in coordination with relevant colleagues
-Develop strategic communications for ongoing engagement of key funders and stakeholders
-Cultivate and manage relationships with current donors as needed
-Research and identify new Entwine supporters
-Identify opportunities for donors to engage with Entwine programming (events, trip, etc.)
Board of Directors Engagement and Administrative Assistance
-Assist the Director of Development in creating Entwine presentations at JDC Board of Director meetings
-Prepare materials, speaking points, and handouts as needed
-Develop and manage a schedule for meetings and dinners with Board members who support Entwine in the coordination of Board Meetings
-Staff Insider Trips as needed
-Be a ‘JDC Entwine’ expert by maintaining high-level knowledge of 1) goals and programming, and 2) communicating the work of the department and JDC through an ‘Entwine’ lens and perspective
-Other related duties as assigned
What qualifications do you need to be our Resource Development Associate?
-Prior experience with writing grant proposals and grant reports required
-Excellent writing skills required
-Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills required
-Strong organizational skills, effectively able manage multiple projects
-Composure, able to maintain calm in high-pressure situations such as interactions with Board Members
-Passion for JDC Entwine’s mission; ability to clearly convey JDC’s work worldwide and to elucidate the importance of Entwine’s mission of global Jewish service to donors
-Ability to recognize cultural differences and to communicate effectively with people of various backgrounds
-Customer-orientation and team mindset
-Familiarity with the American Jewish community and organizations a plus

-Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:45 AM – 4:45PM, with occasional evenings and weekends

This a full-time, salaried position paid semi-monthly. This role is non-exempt per the FLSA.
