San Diego Jewish Academy (SDJA), a PK-12 school in the Carmel Valley community of San Diego, is looking for a highly engaged, talented, and community-oriented Communications & Marketing Manager.
Providing central oversight and strategic direction of SDJA marketing and communication efforts.
The Communications & Marketing Manager is responsible for helping to establish and maintain the high standards of internal and external marketing and communications of the school. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this role will work collaboratively with all departments on campus as well as the Head of School.
You will be kept busy with:
Coordinating and implementing the design, production, and maintenance of school platforms and materials including but not limited to: SDJA website, newsletters and social media. Responsibilities include content sourcing, copywriting and copyediting, ensuring overall consistency and brand standards are met on marketing materials and communications, and helping to determine the overall production schedule.
Managing the SDJA website to ensure content is consistently updated and engaging.
Managing SDJA’s social medial channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. Producing consistent and engaging content via these social media outlets to both attract prospective families and create brand awareness in the community.
Supporting planning and implementation of in-person and virtual events.
Coordinating with graphic designers, print shops, and our PR consultant to support general SDJA marketing and communications needs, but also the marketing and communications needs of specific school departments and programs.
Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

Mapping out an effective communications and marketing strategy, collaborating across departments, and positioning SDJA for successful internal and external outreach and branding.

Delicately editing others’ work and eliciting the best possible writing from them in a timely manner.

Getting people excited, informed and involved in projects or programs.
Being flexible and remaining positive when things don’t go as planned by focusing on solutions.
You bring this to the table:
Knowledge of latest trends in digital and print communications and how best to implement.
Excellent writing skills with proven experience drafting newsletters, event flyers, website content, and articles.
Ability to fearlessly pick up the phone to clarify points and ask for help, and speaking up in meetings while respectively with the deepest part of you
Accountability, trustworthiness, professionalism, and fun.
Basic accounting principles and procedures
Being naturally inquisitive and patient in learning how new applications connect together and are quick to get the message out using the right channels.
