Position Summary:

Yeshiva University is seeking an independent, motivated advancement professional for the role of Sy Syms School of Business and Undergraduate Torah Studies Associate Director of Institutional Advancement. This position will support the IA efforts at both SSSB and the Undergraduate Torah programs. The Associate Director will support the Deans, Board of Overseers and Committees with responsibilities around annual giving, event management, engagement and fundraising initiatives. As both SSSB and UTS seek to engage new constituencies, alumni and stakeholders, the Associate Director will be proficient in best practices around engagement tactics, cultivating new donors, event planning and solicitations. As the Associate Director is part of the broader YU IA team, s/he will partner with the team to plan, develop, and implement a strategy that includes raising funds from parents, alumni and stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

Sy Syms School of Business:

• Support the SSSB Dean to ensure his success through cultivating new prospects for him to meet, assisting with his broader speaking calendar, help to plan SSSB events like ‘bootcamps'
• Help identify, steward and solicit SSSB parents and alumni and other potential donors
• Support the SSSB marketing efforts
Boards
• Foster relationships with specific Board members and Committee members
• Help to leverage Board relationships
• Work with current Board members to increase giving for particular projects and annual gifts

UTS/Stern Torah Studies:

• Partner with both deans to carry out solicitations
• Plan and see to finish alumni events
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 people including parents, alumni and stakeholders
• Analyze past successes, data and protocols in order to suggest and carry out initiatives in support of the Schools
• Liaison and partner with the larger YU IA team

Annual Metrics:

• 150-person portfolio
• 125 in-person visits (or Zoom calls)
• 250 contact reports on top of that
• 1 seven-figure solicitation, 6 six-figure solicitations, 10 five-figure solicitations

Experience & Educational Background:

• A Bachelor's degree
• At least five years of fundraising experience

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with impeccable attention to detail
• Curiosity about people and their philanthropic goals
• Collegiality when working with colleagues across the university
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of Yeshiva University, its undergraduate programs, and the Modern Orthodox community is a plus
