The Hebrew Educational Society is seeking a director for its Israel Center who is energetic, creative, enthusiastic, and well organized with strong communication and leadership skills, and knowledge and a strong connection to Israel and its culture.
A strong connection to both Israeli and American identities and extensive knowledge about its people and culture.
Extensive experience working in summer camp, after school, or other children and teen programming.
Experience planning programs and events for families and adults.
Experience and ability to bring an entrepreneurial spirit in all aspects of program development.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Desire and ability to work as part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including occasional nights and weekends.
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English and Hebrew desired.
The Hebrew Educational Society, a thriving multi-service, comprehensive community center located in southeast Brooklyn, provides a diverse array of programs and services within a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment that is inclusive of people of all ages and ability levels. Programs include Early Childhood, After School, Camps, Athletic, Older Adults, People with disabilities, as well as programs to address the multiple needs of a burgeoning Israeli and Orthodox Jewish community.
Matnas H.E.S. is our cultural Israeli Center that offers varied activities and programs focused around Israeli culture, fulfilling the cultural and social needs of the Southeast Brooklyn Israeli Community. The director will be responsible for the development, outreach, planning, implementation, and supervision of current programs such as our summer camp, as well as plan and manage a variety of special events and innovative programs throughout the year for various audiences.
