The EZRA Multi-Service Center is a community-based service center that provides emergency services to residents of the Edgewater, Uptown, Lakeview and Rogers Park communities in Chicago.
The Communications and Volunteer Coordinator serves as member of EZRA’s Administrative Team and is the lead staff person in developing and implementing external communications and developing community and volunteer outreach strategies for EZRA.
Monday 9:00 am – 5:15 pm, Tuesday 9:00am-5:15pm, Wednesday 9:00-5:00; Thursday 9:00-5:15, Friday 9:00 -4:00.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, social work or related field. Strong desire to work for an agency with an urban Jewish social justice agenda.
The candidate should have 1+ years’ experience in social service or related direct service field.
Demonstrated experience with social media and software applications such as Canva and Mailchimp, Hootsuite computer proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) or the ability to learn these and other systems as needed.
Ability to work in a calm and collected manner
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Sensitivity in working with low-income populations including seniors, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, people living with chronic illness, and people who are homeless.
Ability to network with volunteers, congregations, community organizations, and other Jewish entities.
