Temple Kol Tikvah of Woodland Hills, California, is looking for an experienced ECC director. The director will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of our Early Childhood Center and Parenting Center.
The Kol Tikvah Early Childhood Center is a Reggio Emilia inspired school with a focus on “the outdoor classroom” and ideas based on constructivism. The goal is to be an inclusive, developmental, early childhood education program grounded in Jewish values which respects the individuality of each child and seeks to instill a love of and pride in being Jewish by providing meaningful experiences for children and their families in a safe, nurturing, stimulating and sacred environment.
The ideal candidate must have strong managerial, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as well as a passion for educating young children.? A relevant undergraduate degree is required as well as all appropriate ECC credentials. Familiarity with synagogue life is a plus.
In addition to leading the educational curriculum and teachers, responsibilities include budget, human resources, facilities, communication management, and marketing as well as ensuring that all licensing requirements are met. The Director is an active member of the synagogue’s Senior Staff Team which meets regularly to coordinate programs in which the director will be a participant and leader. Additionally, the candidate who is hired will need to show proof of having had a Covid-19 vaccination prior to start date.
