Communications & Engagement Coordinator

Position Summary
The Communications & Engagement Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with JYW’s entire team of staff and consultants to coordinate and implement marketing, communications, and engagement efforts including email communications, social media presence, website maintenance, content creation, collateral and campaigns, volunteer initiatives, community partnerships, and general administrative marketing duties.

The right candidate will be an organized multitasker who can work effectively within a team and independently. They will have a strong knowledge of current marketing and social media trends, and a passion for compelling content creation and community engagement.

Essential Functions
1. Communications & Content Creation
a. Work with the JYW team to strategize and outline an annual content calendar with monthly themes to include blogs, emails, and more.
b. Manage all email communications including but not limited to multiple weekly emails, one weekly events newsletter, one monthly content-driven newsletter, one quarterly storytelling communication, and other programming, development, and recurring emails.
c. Support Development & Grants Manager with content creation, graphic design, and creative tactics to implement compelling and successful fundraising campaigns.
d. Manage Judaism Your Way’s social media accounts and Google presence, including content planning, messaging and graphics, engagement, paid ad campaigns, and more.
e. Prepare, format, and design collateral pieces.
f. Support website updates utilizing Wordpress/Elementor.

2. Community Engagement
a. Implement grassroots marketing techniques to spread the word about JYW services and programs to the larger community.
b. Ideate, manage, and recruit for JYW volunteer initiatives.
c. Support the team’s development and activation of community partnerships and engagement programs.

3. Marketing Administration
a. Maintain and grow library of digital assets, impact stories, and storytelling components.
b. Manage processes for contact database upkeep and segmentation.
c. Provide tech support at select JYW programs and services as needed.
d. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for the JYW community by managing the front desk, main phone, and general email inquiries.

Skills and Experience
• Demonstrated experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
• Experience in content strategy and planning with a strong knowledge of current marketing and social media trends.
• Knowledge of Constant Contact or similar email marketing platform(s).
• Graphic design and photo/video editing skills (preferably with Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, or other programs).
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work effectively within a team and independently.

Physical Requirements
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, be able to drive a car, and provide own transportation to Denver metro area locations for meetings, services, programs and other JYW events.

Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, exempt position with a salary range of $40,000-$50,000, commensurate with skills and experience. JYW offers a generous benefits package currently including many Jewish and bank holidays. JYW currently pays 100% of medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability insurance for full-time employees. JYW employees are eligible to participate in a 403b savings plan. The position is based in the Denver metro area. JYW does not pay relocation costs.
